The resolution cites harsh weather conditions and security apprehensions as primary reasons for advocating a deferment of the polls. Independent Senator Hilal-ur-Rehman, representing erstwhile FATA, put forth this latest resolution, merely two days after a similar resolution was presented in the upper house of parliament. Senator Rehman emphasized the potential challenges posed by extreme cold weather and snowfall, expressing concerns about citizens facing difficulties in casting their ballots, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
