Myanmar-Thailand Earthquake: Search for Survivors Amid Rising Death Toll
Rescue efforts continue in Myanmar after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck on Friday, killing at least 1,644 people. In Mandalay, near the epicenter, a woman was pulled alive from the rubble after 24 hours.
In Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, around 11 deaths have been reported, despite being 1,000 km from the epicenter. The quake caused widespread destruction, collapsing buildings, bridges, and roads across Myanmar. Limited communication in remote areas suggests the full impact is yet to be known.
