NSC meeting: Pakistan Army authorized to take ‘all necessary countermeasures’ after Indian aggression
A high-level meeting of Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC), chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reviewed the unprovoked Indian attacks on Pakistani cities and the military’s immediate retaliatory response. The meeting was attended by federal ministers and the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
According to the official statement, India’s actions were condemned as a blatant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Indian forces targeted civilian areas in Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad under the false pretext of attacking “terrorist camps,” killing innocent men, women, and children, and damaging mosques and civilian structures.
The committee offered prayers for the martyrs and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured. The NSC granted the Pakistan Armed Forces full authorization to respond appropriately, declaring India’s actions to be in clear breach of international law and an act of war.
