PM Shehbaz Expresses Solidarity with Iran in Call with President Masoud Pezeshkian
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss the evolving regional security situation following Israel's recent aggression.
The Prime Minister strongly condemned the Israeli strikes on Iran, calling them a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stated that the Israeli actions were a clear breach of the UN Charter and international law, reaffirming that Iran reserves the right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
During the conversation, PM Shehbaz expressed heartfelt condolences over the loss of lives in the attacks and emphasized that Israeli provocations pose a grave threat to regional and global peace and stability.
He urged the international community and the United Nations to take credible and immediate steps to halt Israel’s illegal actions. The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace in the region and its readiness to contribute constructively.
