Trump Claims US Forces Captured Venezuela’s President Maduro After Major Strike
American forces carried out a large-scale military operation against Venezuela early Saturday, resulting in the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, who were allegedly flown out of the country.
Speaking at a press conference, US President Donald Trump said the US would temporarily “run” Venezuela during a transition period. The operation was conducted by Delta Force, an elite U.S. Army special operations unit.
According to the claims, Maduro and his wife were flown to New York to face federal charges related to drug trafficking and alleged links to gangs designated as terrorist organizations—allegations Maduro has previously denied. US Attorney General Pam Bondi reportedly referenced a superseding indictment similar to charges first filed against Maduro in 2020.
