Australia Supports US and UK Airstrikes Against Houthis in Yemen
Australia has expressed support for the military actions of the United States and the United Kingdom as they conducted over a dozen airstrikes against locations utilized by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. The strikes, confirmed by US President Joe Biden, represent a substantial military response to the Houthis' ongoing campaign involving drone and missile attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea. Australian Defence Minister Richard Marles emphasized that the decision to carry out the airstrikes "was not taken lightly."
