Court Cannot Interfere in Election Commission Affairs: CJP
Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, emphasized the constitutional status of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday, stating that the court had no authority to interfere in its affairs. These remarks were made during the hearing of an appeal filed by the ECP against the Peshawar High Court's ruling on intra-party polls and election symbols of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The Chief Justice highlighted that the Supreme Court cannot assume the functions of a constitutional body.
