Sydney, Australia – Dr. Engr. Muhammad Irfan has successfully completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering at Macquarie University, Australia. His groundbreaking research focuses on the design, modelling, and optimisation of grid-connected renewable energy systems, integrating advanced vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies for smart microgrids. His thesis was "Development of Energy Management Systems and Economic Models for Homes and Microgrids Integrated with Electric Vehicles"
During his doctoral studies, Dr. Irfan developed innovative energy management solutions using machine learning and heuristic algorithms to enhance system efficiency, reduce residential electricity costs, and support Australia’s transition to net-zero energy systems. His work has been published in leading international journals, including Applied Energy and IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, and has contributed to collaborative research projects with the Smart Green Cities Research Centre at Macquarie University and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
In addition to his research, Dr. Irfan has a strong teaching and professional background, having served as a Teaching Assistant at Macquarie University and a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering in Pakistan. His industry experience includes work with high-voltage transmission systems and hydropower generation, further enhancing his expertise in practical energy systems.
