Iran Vows Retaliation After US Strikes, Trump Hints at Regime Change
Tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate as Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed revenge against what he termed the "Zionist enemy" following joint U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iranian territory. This marks Khamenei’s first public statement since the military escalation began.
U.S. President Donald Trump fueled further tensions by suggesting the possibility of regime change in Tehran, stating, “If the current Iranian regime cannot make Iran great again, why shouldn’t there be change?”
As Iran and Israel continue to trade missile strikes, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that the U.S. would face consequences for its military aggression, signaling that retaliation is imminent.
Meanwhile, the UN nuclear watchdog confirmed that there were no elevated radiation levels following the U.S. airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
Iran reports over 400 deaths and more than 3,000 injuries since Israel’s offensive began on June 13. In contrast, Israeli authorities have confirmed at least 24 fatalities from Iranian retaliatory strikes.
