LG Energy Solution Surges in North America with Expanding ESS Business
LG Energy Solution is rapidly expanding its North American footprint beyond electric vehicle (EV) batteries, focusing on the surging Energy Storage Systems (ESS) sector amid increasing renewable energy generation. In the first to third quarters of the previous year, LG Energy Solution Vertech, the company's ESS subsidiary, reported a staggering 289.0% increase in sales, reaching 1.097 trillion won (US$833.5 million). Notably, the third quarter marked a significant turnaround, with the company achieving a net income of 81 billion won, a remarkable shift from the previous year's net loss of 93 billion won.
