OIC Condemns Israeli Attacks on Press Workers in Occupied Palestinian Territories
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation forces for deliberately targeting press and media workers, along with their families, in the occupied Palestinian territories. The most recent incident involved the assassination of journalists Hamza Wael Al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuraya in an Israeli bombing of a car during their press coverage in Khan Yunis. The OIC expressed deep concern and strong condemnation regarding the Israeli drone attack on a gathering of citizens near the martyrs roundabout south of Jenin. This attack resulted in the tragic martyrdom of six citizens, including four brothers. The deliberate targeting of press workers and civilians is a serious violation of human rights and international norms. The OIC called for an immediate halt to such attacks and urged the international community to intervene to protect the lives of innocent civilians and uphold the principles of justice in the region. The organization emphasized the need for a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue, which remains central to stability and peace in the Middle East.
