Pope Francis – A Life of Humility, Service, and Global Compassion
Pope Francis, the 266th pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church and the first from Latin America, passed away peacefully at the age of 88. His funeral was held at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, attended by world leaders, religious figures, and thousands of faithful mourners.
Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pope Francis became a symbol of humility, reform, and mercy during his papacy, which began in 2013. He was the first Jesuit pope and often shunned luxury, choosing simplicity and closeness to the poor.
Throughout his tenure, he emphasized social justice, climate action, interfaith dialogue, and compassion for migrants and marginalized communities. His calls for peace and unity resonated globally, far beyond the Catholic world.
As the world bids farewell, Pope Francis leaves behind a profound legacy of humanity, hope, and moral leadership.
