Over 500 Weekly Seek Temporary Protection in Ireland
The latest data from the Department of Justice reveals that the flow of Ukrainians seeking temporary protection in Ireland continues, with an average of more than 500 individuals arriving weekly. Between November 1st and December 20th, a total of 3,740 Ukrainians sought refuge in Ireland, with weekly numbers fluctuating between 484 and 702. Since the initial surge following the Russian invasion in February 2022, the arrival rate has remained consistent, ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 individuals per month throughout last year. The cumulative figures provided by the Department of Justice indicate that a total of 102,339 Ukrainians have sought temporary protection in Ireland, highlighting the sustained impact of the ongoing crisis and the nation's commitment to providing refuge for those in need.
